Revised Wastage Norms for Gold/Platinum/Silver Jewellery Exports Proposed.

The notice pertains to the abeyance of Public Notice No. 05/2024 dated 27.05.2024, which modified wastage permissible and Standard Input Output Norms for Gold/Platinum/Silver content in export items. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade proposes revised wastage norms based on industry visits and invites comments from the trade and industry within 7 days. The annexure provides the existing and proposed wastage norms by weight percentage for various categories of export items like plain/studded jewellery, mountings/findings, medallions/coins, and religious idols, categorized as handcrafted or partly mechanized. The norms differentiate between Gold/Platinum and Silver content. The notice aims to finalize revised wastage norms for Gold/Platinum/Silver jewellery exports after considering stakeholder inputs.
