2023 (10) TMI 1461 - HC - CustomsSeeking release of the goods which were seized - goods are perishable in nature - HELD THAT - The end of the justice would be met by keeping all the grounds and arguments available to both the sides open and at this stage, since the goods involved are perishable in nature, the respondents are directed to release the goods subject to furnishing of personal bond/surety to the satisfaction of Commissioner of Customs. Application disposed off accordingly.
The High Court directed the release of seized perishable goods subject to a personal bond. The petitioners had paid duty, but faced additional liability due to undervaluation allegations.
