The High Court of Bombay issued an order directing the Customs authorities to pay demurrage charges and release goods to petitioners as the adjudication order favored them and was not challenged. The order was passed in response to the delay in releasing goods despite the adjudication order. The Customs authorities were held responsible for the delay and were directed to pay demurrage charges within two weeks. The petitioners were also allowed to recover demurrage charges paid earlier if permissible under the law.
