Now, since export duty on all varieties of rice is NIL and export policy is also free except for broken rice, it has been decided to discontinue the practice of routine sampling of rice for export consignments. However, the requirement of drawing of sample would be decided by the Assistant/Deputy Commissioner of Customs in charge of assessment and examination on case to case basis wherever it is felt necessary to check the correctness of the declaration.
