PART V AMENDMENT TO THE SECURITES CONTRACTS (REGULATION) ACT, 1956 Amendment of section 23J. 138 . In the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956 (42 of 1956), in section 23J, the following Explanation shall be inserted, namely:- Explanation .- For the removal of doubts, it is clarified that the power of an adjudicating officer to adjudge the quantum of penalty under sections 23A to 23C shall be and shall always be deemed to have exercised under the provisions of this section. .
