Definitions. 2. In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) Act means the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992); (b) Appellate Tribunal means the Securities Appellate Tribunal established under sub-section (1) of section 15K of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992); (c) Rules means the Securities Appellate Tribunal (Salaries and Allowances and Other Conditions of Service of the Officers and Employees) Rules, 1997; (d) all other words and expressions used and not defined in these rules but defined in the Act shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act.
