64. Amendment of section 143.- In section 143 of the Income-tax Act, in sub-section (2) , with effect from the 1st day of June, 2003,- (a) in clause (i) , the following proviso shall be inserted, namely :- "Provided that no notice under this clause shall be served on the assessee on or after the 1st day of June, 2003;"; (b) in the proviso below clause (ii) , for the words "no notice under this sub-section", the words, brackets and figures "no notice under clause (ii) " shall be substituted.
