Formation of E-corporate business working group to synergise provisions of Companies Act, 1956, with Information Technology Act, 2000 - Companies Law - ORDER NO. 1/6/2000-CL-V,Extract ORDER NO. 1/6/2000-CL-V, DATED 12-7-2000, ISSUED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF COMPANY AFFAIRS Subject:- Formation of E-corporate business working group to synergise provisions of Companies Act, 1956, with Information Technology Act, 2000 The Central Government hereby constitutes an e-corporate business working group to synergise the provisions of Companies Act, 1956 with the Information Technology Act, 2000. The working group would identify various areas of corporate governance falling within the domain of Companies Act, 1956 and other related laws and rules made thereunder which could be harmonised with the Information Technology Act, 2000. The working group will consist of : 1. Shri A. Ramaswamy, Joint Secretary, Department of Company Affairs, Ministry of Law, Justice and Company Affairs Chairman 2. Shri G.P. Prabhu, Joint Secretary, Department of Company Affairs, Ministry of Law, Justice and Company Affairs Member 3. Shri V.K. Gupta, Senior Technical Director, National Informatics Centre Member 4. Shri R. Vasudevan, Director, Department of Company Affairs, Ministry of Law, Justice and Company Affairs Member 5. Shri S.B. Mathur, Director (Inspection and Investigation), Department of Company Affairs, Ministry of Law, Justice and Company Affairs Member Secretary 3. The Committee would function under the Chairman and would devise its own procedure of working under guidance of chairman. The working group may consult other experts in the field as may be considered necessary. They may be co-opted as and when their expertise is required. Professional bodies (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, National Informatics Centre) may also be involved as and when necessary. An outside expert, if invited, will be entitled to TA/DA as per rules. 4. Secretariat assistance to the Committee will be provided by Recodification Cell of the Department of Company Affairs. 5. This issues with the approval of Minister of Law, Justice and Company Affairs, Government of India.
