TRADE NOTICE NO. 17/2013 (Dated 30.12.2013) Subject: Service Tax Voluntary Compliance Encouragement Scheme 2013 reg. All the trade associations and stake holders are aware that the last date for filing of declarations under VCES-2013 is 31 st December, 2013 as per section 107(1) of the Finance Act, 2013. 2. There has been an overwhelming response to the Voluntary Compliance Encouragement Scheme 2013 (VCES) . All service providers, both registered and unregistered, are informed that that this scheme is open till 31.12.2013 only. There will be no extension of the scheme since the last date is laid down in the Finance Act. All efforts have been made to help all declarants by keeping our offices open on Saturdays and last Sunday. It is decided that the Service Tax offices will be open till 10.00 p.m. well beyond normal working hours on 30th. The Service Tax offices will be open till midnight of 31st December to facilitate acceptance of VCES declarations. 3. Further, the Government has also extended banking hours in the designated branches upto 6 p.m. on 31.12.2013. In addition, Service Tax offices of this Commissionerate would accept demand drafts/pay orders also under the Receipt Payment Rules. 4. It is hoped that with all these measures, the service providers would respond and avail the benefits of VCES. The declarants are once again reminded that they have to pay 50% of the declared tax dues by 31.12.2013, failing which they would be ineligible for the scheme. Further, it is to inform that from 1st January 2014, stern action will be taken against the service tax evaders and the provisions of the Finance Act relating to arrest and prosecution will be enforced in right earnest.
