Sewri North plot declared as Customs area for storage of metallic crap, machinery packages, non hazardous drums and such other cargoes - Customs - 132/97

Public Notice 132/97 Dated 23/09/1997 In exercise of powers conferred on me by section 8 of the Customs Act, 1962 , I, M.G. Venugopalan, Commissioner of Customs (Imports), hereby notify the plot known as Sewri North, consisting of an area of approx.. 5100 Sq. Mtr. Having boundaries mentioned below:- 1. On the North : Hindustan Petroleum Installation. 2. On the South: Hindustan Petroleum installation Tank No. 47 and 45 3. On the West : MB. P.T. Road. 4. On the East : Oil Depot, Main Road As Customs Area for storage of metallic scrap, machinery packages, non hazardous drums and such other cargoes which can be kept normally in the open area, until further orders, provided the area remains under the complete control of Mumbai Port Trust and the cargo is stored under the custody of Mumbai Port Trust with adequate security arrangements. The MB. P.T. should also ensure that adequate lighting and fire fighting equipments within and /or in the vicinity of the area referred to are provided.
