QUEEN'S ROAD, BENGALURU- 560001 C.NO. VIII/09/04/2015 City Cus Tech Dated : 27-11-2015 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 20/2015 Sub: Customs- Clearance of undelivered inbound international parcels/articles - Reg. It is brought to the notice of all concerned that certain international articles/parcels received and detained at International Business Centre, {formerly known as 'Postal Appraising Department (PAD)} functioning at Bengaluru Sub-Foreign Post Office, GPO Complex, Vidhana Veedhi, Bengaluru - 560 001, are pending clearance for a long time. On a review of the pending undelivered inbound international parcels at Bengaluru Sub-Foreign Post Office, it is ascertained that the parcels are pending clearance predominantly for want of replies/relevant documents from the consignee(s)/recipient(s) as called for in the Call Memos issued by the Postal Appraising Department(PAD). In some cases, the Call Memos issued have been returned undelivered by the Postal Authorities with the remarks Not Available or Insufficient Address . Considering the accumulated pendency on this issue, PAD is undertaking a Special Drive to liquidate the same. Accordingly, in all such pending cases, the consignee(s)/recipient(s) to whom Call Memos have already been issued and one month's time is over, are requested to furnish the replies to the Call Memos at the earliest. Now, as a onetime measure, it has been decided that, in case, no reply is received within 15 days of the issue of this Public Notice, the cases will be decided on the basis of available records without any further reference to the consignee(s)/recipient(s). Attention of the all concerned is drawn to this office Public Notice. No. 21/2013 dated 23.05.2015, wherein it had already been decided that PAD would wait for a reply to 'Call Memo only for one month from the date of the issue of Call Memo and that if no reply is received within one month, the case shall be decided on the basis of the available records, without any further reference to the recipient(s). In order to ensure that in future no such pendency accumulates, it is reiterated and informed that the above instructions will be strictly adhered to henceforth.
