Attention of Importers, Exporters, Officers and all concerned is invited to the practice of delivery of goods in case of RMS facilitated bills of Entry - Customs - 45/2015

Dated: 16.11.2015 Public Notice No. 45/2015 Attention of Importers, Exporters, Officers and all concerned is invited to the practice of delivery of goods in case of RMS facilitated bills of Entry. In case of RMS facilitated Bill of Entry, since goods are not to be examined containers are not opened by the Dock Officers. In these cases, merely the numbers of containers are matched with those declared in the Bills of Entry and delivery of the goods allowed in most of the cases importers take delivery of the loaded containers, take away the containers along with goods to their places, de-stuffed the goods at their premises and return the empty containers. However, at times the importers prefer to de-stuff the goods at dock/CFS premises and take away the de-stuffed goods. It has come to notice that on some occasions, Dock officers do not permit importers to take goods after de-stuffing at Docks/CFSs premise41n the interest of the trades, it is clarified that importers are at liberty to de-stuff the goods from RMS facilitated containers at Dock/CFSs premises and take delivery of de-stuffed goods.
