Attention of all Importers, CHA, Trade and all other concerned is invited to the above subject. It is noticed that some of the Importers/CHAs are not declaring the complete description and specifications of goods and instead submit vague and incomplete description of goods which makes it is difficult to decipher the exact nature and composition of the goods for the purpose of the classification and valuation of imported light/lighting Fixtures. 2. In this regard, all the Importers/CHAs are directed to furnish the following specifications along with the description of the goods: i) Whether LED or non LED light/light fixtures. ii) Type of lamp/fixture like Hanging Lights/Lamps, Ceiling lamps, Pendent Lamps, Table lamps, Chandelier etc. i) Whether with or without the Bulb Ballast. If with bulb, types of Bulb like Halogen, LED, HID, CFL, Metal Halide etc. ii) Electrical ratings -Voltage and Wattage, Colour Temperature (CCT) etc. iii) Constituent material like Aluminum/stainlessteel/Mild Steel/Plastic/textile/glass etc., used in the light/fixtures and lens. iv) Nature of finishing of the body of the lamp/fixture like paint/powder coating/plastic coating etc. v) Whether with or without the Diffusers/Reflectors. vi) Shape and design, brand, quality, Longevity etc. vii) Weight of each entry of the bill of entry along with the above specifications. 3. In all such cases where complete details as above are not furnished, documents shall be returned for incorporating the same. Further, first check examination and calling for samples may be resorted to by the group officers for ascertaining the value of the goods imported. This may delay the clearance of the goods. In order to avoid such delay, the above mentioned parameters/specifications may be declared at the time of filing bill of entry.
