Unauthorized certification of notified commodities (Minerals and ores of Group I, Group II) by Inspection Agencies without recognition from Competent Authority-Regarding - Customs - 01/2014

No.S23/Exp/75/20140Ap(Exp) Date: 31.07.2014 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 01/2014 Sub: Unauthorized certification of notified commodities (Minerals and ores of Group I, Group II) by Inspection Agencies without recognition from Competent Authority-Regarding Attention of all the Exporters, Custom House Agents, Trade and industry is drawn to the GOI SO 3977 dt. 20.12.1965, wherein it has been stipulated that the inspection of minerals or ores intended for export shall carried out by an Agency recognized for the purpose under Section 7 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Act. 1963 (22 of 1963). However, it has been reported by the Export Inspection Council of India that mineral and ores are being exported without necessary inspection and certification by EIC recognized inspection agencies. In view of the above, all the Exporters, Custom House Agents, Trade and Industry are hereby informed that henceforth, the following scheduled minerals and ores shall be allowed export only if they are accompanied by a certificate issued by recognized agency under Section 7 of the said Act by EIC.
