The Commissioner of Customs (Gen) vide Public Notice No. 19/2007 dated 01.05.2007 and 26/2007 dated 10.07.2007 had declared the premises of M/s. Minerals Metals Trading Corporation Limited (MMTC Ltd) situated at 1102-A, Solitaire Corporate Park, 167, Guru Hargovindji Marg, Chakala, Andheri (East), Mumbai 400 093 (hereinafter referred to as AGJCCC) as a Customs Area for the purpose of storage and clearance of imported and export cargo of diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones, pearls, jewellery made of gold or any other precious metal with or without studding, precious metal, precious metal alloy, industrial diamond including powders of both natural and synthetic stones and such other items as may be specified from time to time. Commissioner of Customs (Gen) also appointed M/s. Minerals Metals Trading Corporation Limited as the Custodian of above said premises/ Area. Now, MMTC vide their letter dated 20.01.2010 has informed that they intend to surrender their Custodianship at AGJCCC and close down the facility w.e.f. 31.03.2010. Therefore I, Shri S.L. Meena, Commissioner of Customs (General), Mumbai In exercise of the powers vested in me under Section 8 of the Customs Act, 1962, hereby rescind the Public Notice No. 19/2007 dated 01.05.2007 and 26/2007 dated 10.07.2007 above declaring the above said Area as Customs Area under Section 8 of the Customs Act, 1962.
