S/3-Misc-PRO-08/2004/ACC Date:- 26.05.2004 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 21/2004 SUB: - Assessment of Non-EDI [Manual] Bill of Entries reg. It has been decided that all Manual Bills of Entry, other than those falling under the following categories, shall be assessed and audited in the Appraising Groups; dealing with the respective tariff items. a) Direct Delivery Bills of Entry (as per S.O. 11/97 dt: 18.09.97 and its amendment dt: 17.10.00) b) Defence and Diplomatic Imports c) Current News Papers and Magazines The Appraising Group II B shall continue to undertake the assessment of manual Bills of Entry listed at [a], [b], [c] above. The work relating to permission for Direct Delivery will also be looked after by the Group II B. The Manual Group II B will maintain register for Direct Delivery and for assessment of the goods mentioned at a, b c above. Further, the import noting section will continue to allot Thoka No. to the Manual Bills of Entries allowed by the ADDL (AM)/JC/EDI and will maintain a register indicating the details like B/E No. and Date, IGM No. and Date, Importer s Name and Address, description of the goods, Assessable Value Declared, Name of Appraising Group, Name of the CHA/Self and remarks if any. This Public Notice will come in to force with effect from 01.06.04. Difficulties, if any in this regard may be brought to the notice of Addl. Commr (AM)/Jt. Commissioner (EDI). Sd/- (Y.G.
