Manual Endorsement of the Fact of “Provisional Shipment And/Or Drawal of Sample, Examination of Export Consignment” on Shipping Bills - Customs - 62/2002 (EP)

It is learnt that when the exports are allowed on provisional basis or when samples are drawn the fact of such provisional shipment and/or the fact of samples been drawn is not getting endorsed and printed on shipping bills, as the system lacks facility to endorse the said facts. 2. Similarly, when consignment under export, even when not selected/specified for examination by the system, is subjected to examination for certain reasons, and few packages are examined and the fact of package number examined when feeded in departmental comments of the system, the print of S/B does not mention the fact of examination of the consignment by the Customs. 3. The exporters in such cases do not become aware of the fact of PROVISIONAL SHIPMENT and becomes aware when they come up for claiming export benefit viz. at the time of verification of DEPB or like. Similarly, in absence of any endorsement of the fact of DRAWAL OF SAMPLE AND EXAMINATION OF THE PACKAGES on the S/Bill the factual position does not get reflected on the S/Bill. 4. In view of the facts above, till the changes are made in the software, so as to make print endorsement in regard to PROVISIONAL SHIPMENT, DRAWAL OF SAMPLES and EXAMINATION OF THE CONSIGNMENT it has been decided that in all such cases all the copies of print of S/Bs would be MANUALLY ENDORSED suitably of the fact of PROVISIONAL SHIPMENT and/or DRAWAL OF SAMPLES as the fact of the examination of the consignment, at the top of all the Shipping Bills under Dated Signature and Seal of the proper officer with his Name Designation in block letters below his signature. 5.
