Date: 05-12-2016 Public Notice No. 36/2016 Sub: Administrative control over the Public and Private Warehouses consequent to closure of erstwhile Customs Division, Bangalore. Attention is invited to this office Public Notice No. 26/2016 dated 9.8.2016 intimating the Trade with regard to cessation of the operations of the erstwhile Customs Division, Bangalore w.e.f. 16.8.2016. 2. Pursuant to the closure of the operations of the Customs Division, Bangalore, the issue with regard to the Administrative Control over the Public Warehouses and Private Warehouses that are located/situated within the jurisdiction of Bangalore City Commissionerate and operating in terms of Notification No. 70/2016 Cus. (N.T.) dated 14.5.2016 and Notification No. 71/2016 Cus. (N.T.) dated 14.5.2016 has been reviewed. It is observed that some of the Warehouses are receiving bonded goods both from Air Cargo Complex, of Air Customs Commissionerate, Bangalore and also Inland Container Depot, City Customs Commissionerate, Bangalore. In case of some Warehouses, the bonded goods are being received exclusively from either of the above two formations. Some of the Warehouses are also bonding the cargo imported through other than the above two ports. 3. In this regard, in exercise of powers vested with the undersigned in terms of Notification No. 78/2014 Cus. (N.T.) dated 16.9.2014 read with Public Notice No. 1/2014 dated 13.10.2014 issued by the Chief Commissioner of Customs, Bangalore upon cessation of operations of Customs Division in terms of Public Notice No. 26/2016 dated 9.8.2016, the Administrative Control over the Public and Private Warehouses, in so far as filing of periodical Returns, receipt of applications for grant of licenses for fresh warehouse licenses, receipt of requests for amendment of the existing warehouse area and the process of verification thereof etc., are vested with the Deputy/Asst. Commissioner of Customs , ICD, Bangalore . Further, for the purpose of raising of any demand or granting of refund, arising out of clearances made through erstwhile Customs Division, Bangalore and also for the purpose of refund of unutilized PLA balances held in the accounts of the Warehouses, the Deputy/Asst. Commissioner of Customs (Warehouse), ICD, Bangalore shall be the proper authority. 4. Difficulties, if any, faced in shall be brought to the notice of this office.
