Reward to informers in respect of Service tax cases - Service Tax - Trade Notice No. 1/2005

Commissioner of Central Excise, Jamshedpur Trade Notice No. 1/2005-S.T. dated 7-2-2005 Attention of trade, industry and public is invited to the fact that the policy/procedures/guideline in respect of grant of reward to informer has been amended and now the policy of granting reward has been extended to the Finance Act, 1994 as amended to the extent the said Act contains provisions relating to service tax. By virtue of this amendment, the reward scheme has been extended to the cases of detection of service tax evasion. The reward claims of informers in respect of service tax cases shall be processed and decided in the same manner as those of Central Excise cases. All the Trade Associations, Service Providers Association, Chamber of Commerce and Industry falling within the jurisdiction of Central Excise Commissionerate, Jamshedpur are requested to bring the contents of this Trade Notice to the knowledge of their constituent members and others concerned.
