Bank Guarantee - Renewal/Closure of Bank Guarantee entered in EDI System - Procedure - Customs - STANDING ORDER NO. 34/2015.

Attention of all the Officers/Staff of J.N.C.H. is invited to Standing Order No. 31/2007, dated 24.07.2007 in which a new Bank Guarantee Cell was created and as per para 6.1, Bank Guarantee Cell is required to generate a list of all Bank Guarantees from the EDI which will be expiring in the second subsequent month and circulate it to Gr. A.C./D.C. who will then take action to enforce the Bank Guarantee or to get it renewed. As per para 6.2, the Groups are required to submit a monthly report to Bank Guarantee Cell regarding the action taken on expiring Bank Guarantees. As per para 4.1, the Groups are required to enter the data of renewal/closure of Bank Guarantees in the EDI system. It has been found that the groups are not entering the renewal/closure of the Bank Guarantees in the EDI System and they are not informing the same to the Bank Guarantee Cell also. It is hereby directed that the renewal/closure of the Bank Guarantees should be entered in the EDI System and also informed to the Bank Guarantee Cell without fail. The renewal of Bank Guarantee in the EDI System can be done by amendment of Bank Guarantee to change the expiry date. The closure of Bank Guarantee can be done in the EDI System by closure of Bond and Bank Guarantee by the Group in the EDI System. It has been found that Bank Guarantee cell is generating the monthly report of expiring Bank Guarantee from the data maintained on a personal Computer and not from the EDI System. It is directed that the report should be generated through the EDI System and compared with the report generated by the Bank Guarantee Cell on their Personal Computer to include any additional entries, if any. This should be then circulated to the groups. The groups should also send the monthly report of action taken on expiring Bank Guarantee's as per para 6.2 of Standing Order No. 31/2007, dated 24/07/2007 This Standing Order comes into effect immediately.
