Valuation - Examination of second-hand machinery (old and used) only by Chartered Engineer - Customs - 69/2015

V DATE : 15-09-2015 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 69/2015 Attention of all Importers, Custom House Agents and the member of the trade is invited to the Public Notice 51/2005, dated 29-06-2015 regarding valuation/examination of the imported second hand (old and used) machinery at JNCH. In this regard, it is clarified that the Chartered Engineers/Inspection and Certification Agencies which are empanelled for valuation/examination of second hand (old and used) machines shall ensure that the physical examination and valuation of the imported second hand (old and used) machinery shall be done only by the Engineer professionally competent to carry such examination and valuation i.e. qualified Chartered Engineer and same engineer shall issue the certificate in this regard. The physical examination/Valuation shall not be delegated to any unauthorized/Unqualified person and can be done only by the qualified associate declared in the applications.
