Date: 08.03.2018 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 11/2018 Sub: Visakhapatnam Custom House - Extension Of e-SANCHIT Facility obligatory uploading of supporting documents w.e.f. 15-03.2018 - reg. Attention of Exporters, Customs Brokers and Members of Trade is invited To this office Public Notice No. 04/2016, dated 31.01.2CIS regarding the facility introduced in Visakhapatnam Custom House to voluntarily upload digitally signed supporting documents on a pilot basis with effect from 01.02.2018 and in respect of Appraising Group-V it was mandatory to do so with effect from 15.02201 d. The e-SANCHIT facility is now made obligatory for all Appraising Groups with effect from 15.03.2013. The Customs Brokers and self-filers on ICEGATE should therefore use e-SANCHIT on a regular basis and those who do not file even a single Bill of Entry under e-SANCHIT would not be permitted to file documents on ICEGATE after 08.03.2018 The e-SANCHIT facility is aimed at completely transforming Customs clearance and the officers of Customs would not insist on a hardcopy of documents when the same is on e-SANCHIT The documents requiring mandatory verification in original (e.g. Certificate of Origin) would be done by the officers concerned of relevant Appraising Groups. However, such documents should also be uploaded on e-SANCHIT before clearance. The Assessment functions carried out by the Appraisers and Assistant/Deputy Commissioners Would be based on the documents uploaded. In case a personal hearing is to -be conducted for resolving or adjudicating disputes, the same would be done through a transperent system of appointments and if necessary, CCTV facilities would be put in place ensure strict compliance.. - Sd - (Dr. D.
