OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER, CUSTOMS (PREV.), JAMNAGAR SARDA HOUSE , OPP.PANCHAVATI SOCIETY, BEDI BUNDER ROAD, JAMNAGAR - 361008 F.No.VIII/48-09/Cus-T/2018 Date: 03.04.2018 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 11/2018 Sub: Jurisdiction of Superintendent posted at jurisdictional EPC Attention of the Exporters and the trade industry is invited to CBEC Circular No. 26/2017-customs dated 30.06.2017 and Public Notices No. 2/2018 3/2018 both dated 16.01.2018 issued by this office. 2. It is laid down vide para 9(i) of Circular No. 26/2017-Customs dated 30.06.2017 that the exporter shall be under an obligation to inform the details of the premises whether a factory or warehouse or any other place where container stuffing is to be carried out, to the jurisdictional customs officer. Further, as per para 9(iii) of the said Circular, any exporter desirous of availing self-sealing procedure shall inform the jurisdictional Custom Officer of the rank of Superintendent or Appraiser of Customs, at least 15 days before the first planned movement of a consignment from his/her factory/ premises, about the Intention to follow self- sealing procedure to export goods from the factory premises or warehouse. It is also known that Export Promotion Circles (EPC) have already been formed vide Public Notice no. 2/2018 dated 16.01.2018, in respect of the jurisdiction of Jamnagar Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate, to perform all customs functions including export procedure and sealing of containerised cargo. 3. In view of above, it is clarified that the Superintendent posted at jurisdictional EPC is the jurisdictional Customs Officer for the procedure laid down in para 9 of Circular No. 26/2017-Customs dated 30.06.2017.
