Misc. 04/2018-Appg-Main-CH-VII Dated: 11.01.2018 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 04/2018 Sub: Implementation of E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016 - reg. ***** Attention is invited to the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016 regarding obtaining valid Extended Producer Responsibility Authorization (EPRA) from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) for the import of Electrical and Electronic equipment (EEE) before clearance by Customs Authorities at Air Cargo Complex, Chennai. As responsibilities cast on Customs Authorities vide Rule 17 read with SI. No. 4 of Schedule IV of the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016 the verification of EPRA which is listed in the CPCB website is mandatory by the shed Customs Examination officers and it is also obligatory to inform to CPCB that any violation of the said rules is noticed during registration of B/E, examination of goods or before OOC and action is to be initiated under the provisions of Customs Act, 1962 read with E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016. In this regard, any difficulty or operational challenges is faced on implementation of E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016, the same may be reported to the concerned AC/DC for further necessary action.
