Subject: - Extending eSANCHIT application on all, EDI locations- Regarding. *** Attention of all the Importers, Exporters, Customs Brokers, Steamer Agents custodians/customs cargo service providers, Trade Associations/chamber of commerce, Members of the MC/PGC and the public is invited to the Board s Instruction No. 02/2018-Customs dated 07.02.2018 issued from F. No. 450/16/2015-Cus-IV on the above subject. 2. Please refer to para g of Board s Circular No. 10/2016 dated 15.03.2016, wherein, it was stated that CBEC was in the process of procuring IT infrastructure to capture digitally signed copies of the supporting documents. Under project saksham , CBEC has upgraded its IT infrastructure, which would inter alia be used for the introduction of paperless processing under single window Interface for Facilitation of Trade (SWIFT). With the objective of reducing physical interface between customs/regulatory agencies and the trade and to increase the speed of clearance, a facility to upload digitally signed supporting documents on a pilot basis was launced at Air cargo complex, New Delhi and Chennai customs House. subsequently, eSANCHIT was further extended to ICD Tughlaqabad, ACC Sahar, JNCH, Nhava Sheva, Mumbai and other Customs Houses across the country. 3. Now, based on the reports and feedback received so far, it has been decided to extended eSANCHIT to ail EDI locations on a voluntary basis. Though this facility would be provided to trade on a voluntary basis, it must be ensured, in preparation for making this facility mandatory, that every customs broker and serf-firer (all ICEGATE users) develops the capability to use eSANCHIT as envisage in customs circular 40/2017. 4. Step by step procedure to upload supporting documents with digital signatures at eSANCHIT and a list of FAQs is already published at https://www/icegate.gov.in/eSANCHIT.html on ICEGATE website. 5.
