No. VIII(48)20/CUS/TECH/Plant Quarantine/2013/1220-36(A) Date: 05.02.2018 INSTRUCTION No. 01/2018 Dated Shillong the 5 th February, 2018 Subject: Points of Entry for Import of plants/plant materials and other articles Your attention is brought to Plant Quarantine Order (Regulation of Import into India), 2003 (as amended), wherein at Schedule-I (seaports/airports/LCSs), Schedule -II (ICD/CFS) and Schedule-Ill (FPO) list of customs stations authorised to permit import of plants/plant materials/plant products are indicated. As per the said schedule, the following customs stations in the jurisdiction of this Commissionerate are authorised ports for import of such goods: Airports 1 Guwahati (Assam) Land Customs Stations 1 Agartala (Tripura) 2 Moreh (Manipur) 3 Zokhawthar (Mizoram) Foreign Post Office 1 Guwahati (Assam) Clause 13 of the Plant Quarantine Order (Regulation of Import into India), 2003 (as amended) states that: All the consignments of plants and plant products and other regulated articles shall be imported into India only through ports of entry as specified in Schedule-I and Inland Container Depots/Container Freight Stations and foreign post offices falling within the jurisdiction of concerned plant quarantine station operating here under or those notified by the Government from time to time in this behalf. As there are reports of imports of plant/plant materials being allowed through customs stations not authorised for the purpose, it is hereby directed that import of plants/plant materials are strictly to be allowed to be imported only through the ports of entry as specified and not through any other customs station in the jurisdiction of the Commissionerate.
