Attention of all Central Excise assesses/ manufacturers, Service Tax assesses, Trade and Industry and all concerned is invited to Ministry of Finance's Notification No. 27/2014 dated 16th September, 2014 by which the Central Board of Excise Customs have notified the setting up of a new Commissionerate of Audit in the North-Eastern Region with its Headquarters at Guwahati under the jurisdictional control of the Chief Commissioner, Central Excise Zone, Shillonge The territorial jurisdiction of the new Audit Commissionerate is given below: JURISDICTION: The entire North Eastern Region comprising of the following States -Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh. COMMISSIONERATE HORS . - GUWAHATI The Audit Commissionerate will comprise of Headquarters Office and Seven Circles. Each of these Circles will be headed by a Dya / Asst. Commissioner. Each of these Circles will comprise of Audit groups headed by a Superintendent. No. of Circles: 07 (Seven) The jurisdictions of the 7 Circles is hereby defined as follows: Sl.No. NAMES OF THE CIRCLE JURISDICTION 1. GUWAHATI CIRCLE - I It covers the jurisdictions of - (a) Range - IA 1B of Guwahati Central Excise Division - I. (b) Range - IID of Guwahati Central Excise Division - II. (c) Range A B of Guwahati Service Tax Division and (d) The entire jurisdiction of Central Excise Service Tax Division, Dhubri. 2. GUWAHATI CIRCLE - II It covers the jurisdictions of - (a) Range - IC, ID, IE Rangia Range of Guwahati Central Excise Division - I. (b) Range C D of Guwahati Service Tax Division and (c) The entire jurisdiction of Central Excise Service Tax Division, Itanagar. 3. GUWAHATI CIRCLE - III It covers the jurisdictions of - (a) Range - IIA, IIB, IIC, IIE Jagiroad Range of Guwahati Central Excise Division - II. (b) Range E, F G of Guwahati Service Tax Division and (c) The entire jurisdiction of Central Excise Division, Tezpur. 4. SHILLONG CIRCLE It covers the jurisdiction of - (a) Central Excise Service Tax Division, Shillong and Nagaon. 5. DIBRUGARH CIRCLE - I It covers the jurisdiction of - (a) Central Excise Service Tax Division, Jorhat and Dibrugarh. 6. DIBRUGARH CIRCLE - II It covers the jurisdiction of - (a) Central Excise Service Tax Division, Tinsukia and Digboi. 7. AGARTALA CIRCLE It covers the jurisdiction of - (a) Central Excise Service Tax Division Agartala and Silchar.
