Redressal of Public Grievances - Central Excise - 37/89Extract Redressal of Public Grievances Circular No. 37/89 Dated 13-12-1989 [From F. No. 221/18/89 CX.6] Government of India Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) New Delhi Subject : Redressal of Public Grievances. With a view to provide quick redressal of Public Grievances, Board has decided that each Officer of the rank of the Superintendent, Assistant Collector, Deputy Collector, Additional Collector, Collector and Principal, Collector of Central Excise and Customs should set apart one hour on every working day for meeting the public. During this hour the Public should be able to meet the officers without any prior appointment. The hour so fixed by each officer should be indicated on the Notice Board of the office. The Notice Board should also carry the message that no prior appointment is necessary for meeting during the said hours. 2. These instructions should be complied within 15 days of the receipt of this circular. A public Trade notice should also be issued by all Collectorate/Customs Houses. A copy of the public Trade Notices so issued should be sent to the Board.
