(N.T.), dated 16-8-1989 In exercise of the powers vested in them, the Central Board of Excise and Customs have exempted from the requirement of marking of wholesale or retail packets of cigarettes as required under Rule 93(b)(i) w.e.f. 31-10-1989 till 30-11-1989 provided that the marking on such packets are done in accordance with the Rule 93(b)(i) as it stood prior to its amendment before 31-10-1989 vide Notification No. 37/89-CE(NT), dated 16-8-1989. The effect of this exemption is that the aforesaid notification will take effect from 1-12-1989.
