F.No. 299/130/2013-IT (Inv. III) Department of Revenue Central Board of Direct Taxes Dated 29th October, 2013 Sub : Representation before the Settlement Commission. In a review meeting taken by the Hon ble Minister on the functioning of the Settlement Commission and the representation of the Department, it was mentioned by the Members of the Commission that Commissioner have been routinely seeking adjournments leading to delays in finalisation of the cases. It is hereby directed that no Commissioner shall seek adjournment of a case posted before the Commission except in the rarest of the rare situations and all such instances of seeking adjournments may be reported in advance through the CC/DG concerned.
