Relaxations regarding Modvat Scheme Letter F. No. B.22/5/86-TRU Dated 10-4-1986 Government of India Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) New Delhi Subject : Relaxations regarding Modvat Scheme. The undersigned is directed to refer to Notification No. 198/86-Central Excises, dated the 14th March, 1986 issued under Rule 57J of the Central Excises Rules, 1944 (Modvat rules) allowing for credit of the excise duty paid on PVC resins used in the manufacture of intermediate PVC compounds for use in electric wires and cables and to inform you that the said notification has been amended vide Notification No. 247/86-C.E., dated 8-4-1986 (copy enclosed)[Not Printed]. The effect of this amendment is that the facility available under the aforesaid notification would now be extended to all units manufacturing electric wires and cables irrespective of the fact that whether the unit is big or small. 2. Attention is also invited to order F. No. B. 22/5/86-TRU, dated the 7th April, 1986 providing for deemed credit in respect of iron and steel, aluminium, copper, zinc and lead. This order has been issued in supersession of the earlier order of even number dated the 14th March 1986.
