Processing of petitions. - Income Tax - 1848/1990

INSTRUCTION NO. 1848/1990 Dated: May 30, 1990 In Board's Instruction NO. 1839 dated 20th February, 1990 it was mentioned that the Director General of Income-tax (Exemptions), Calcutta, would, inter alia assist the Board in processing petitions for notification of Mutual Funds under section 10(23D) of the Income-tax Act and of Exchange Risk Administration Funds under section 10(23E) of the said Act. This does not reflect the correct position. It is hereby clarified that such petitions will be processed in the Board without any reference to the Director General (Income-tax Exemptions). 2. In paragraph 3 of the said Instruction, it was mentioned that Director of Income-tax (Exemptions) would send their report on petitions for exemption under section 10(23), 10(23C) (iv)(v) of the Act of the Director General of Income-tax (Exemptions), Calcutta. It is hereby further clarified that the Director will also send report on petitions for exemption under section 10(17A), 10(23A) and 35 of the Act in cases within their jurisdiction. 3. The above instructions will come into force with immediate effect. 4. The above instructions may please be brought to the notice of all officers in your region.
