Lead Merchant Banker - Definition / Legal Terminology - Income Tax

As per section 97(5AB) of Chapter VII (Securities transaction Tax) Finance (No. 2) Act, 2004 Lead Merchant Banker means- a merchant banker appointed as lead merchant banker in accordance with sub-regulation (1) of regulation 5 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2009 made under the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992.
