The Central Government included an additional area of 76.95 acres to the existing 160 acres Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone at Narava Village, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh - S.O. 1140 (E) - Special Economic Zone

Ministry of Commerce and Industry Department of Commerce New Delhi Dated 13 July 2007 S.O. 1140 (E) - Whereas, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) , the Central Government, vide notification number 6/8/1999-EPZ, dated the December 19, 2002 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part I, Section 1, notified Visakhapatnam Export Processing Zone in the State of Andhra Pradesh; And, whereas, the Visakhapatnam Export Processing Zone was converted into Special Economic Zone by a Resolution notified in the Gazette of India No.618/1999/EPZ, dated the 19th December, 2002 ; And, whereas, the Central Government notified in the Gazette of India vide No.9/SEZ/ notification/2006 in terms of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2003 (hereinafter referred to as the Act) that the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone shall be deemed to be Special Economic Zone established in accordance with the provisions of the Act; And, whereas, Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone has proposed an additional area of 76.95 acres to be included in the said notified area of 160 acres as part of the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone in the State of Andhra Pradesh; And, whereas, the said proposal for increasing the area of. Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone from 160* acres of land to 236.95 acres has been approved by the Board of Approval on 10th October, 2006; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby notifies an additional area of 76.95 acres as part of the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone in the State of Andhra Pradesh, comprising the old survey No. Duwada Village 138 part, 139 part, Kurmannapalam Village : 1, 2, 3 and 4 and Jaccarajupeta Village of Gajuwaka Mandal-2 part, 3, 124 part, 34 part, 35, 36, 37 and 38 part and Narava-2 part 6, 340 part renumbered as Sy.Nos. 2, 3 part 4, 7 part, 27 part and 28 part of Narava village, Pendurthy Mandal, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh.
