Central Government constitutes the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare - S.O. 926 (E) - Income Tax

MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Revenue) NOTIFICATION New Delhi the 22 nd December, 1994 S.O. 926 (E). - Whereas in exercise of the powers conferred by section 35AC of the Income tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961) read with rule 11G of the Income tax Rules,1962 , the Central Government constituted the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare vide Notification No. 5(E) dated 2nd January, 1992 ; And whereas in the said Committee by the aforesaid notification in terms of sub rule (1) of rule 11G , 14 members were appointed by the Central Government as Chairman and members of the said Committee ; And whereas the term of aforesaid person is to expire on 1 st January, 1995; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 35AC read with sub-rule (1) and (3) of rule 11G of the Income tax rules, 1962 , the Central Government hereby appoints following persons as a Chairman and members for a period of three years with effect from 2nd January, 1995 1. Justice P.N. Bhagwati Former Chief justice of India Chairman 2. Shri R.N. Malhotra Former Governor, Reserve Bank of India Member 3. Smt. Ela R. Bhatt Former Member, Planning Commission, Member 4. Dr. A.S. Kalhon Ex-Vice Chancellor and noted Agricultural Economist Member 5. Shri V. Padmanabhan Scientist, Member, K.V.I.C, Managing Trustee, Gandhigram Dist. Madurai Member 6. Shri Natwar Thakkar Social worker, Nagaland Member 7. Shri Dinesh Vyas Advocate and Expert in Taxation Laws Member 8. Prof. Kamta Prasad Professor, Indian Institute of Public Administration, I. P.
