Notification No.5(E) dated 2nd January, 1992 as amended by S.O.926(E) dated 22nd December, 1994 and 892(E) dated 23m December, 1997 - S.O. 444(E) - Income Tax

MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Revenue) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 21 st May, 2001 S.O. 444(E).- Whereas in exercise of the powers conferred by section 35AC of the income-tax Act, 1961(43 of 1961) read with rule 11G of the Income Tax Rules, 1962, the Central Govtrnment constituted the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare vide notification No. S.O. 5(E) dated the 2 nd January, 1992 as amended by notification number S.O.926(E) dated the 22 nd December, 1994 and SO. 892(E) dated the 23 rd December, 1997 AND WNEREAS in the said Committee by the aforesaid notification in terms of sub-rule (1) of rule 11G, 14 members were appointed by the Central Government as Chairman and members of the said Committee; AND WHEREAS the term of aforesaid persons expired on 1 st January, 2001; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 35AC read with sub-rule (1) and (3) of rule 11G of the Income Tax Rules, 1962, the Central Government hereby appoints following persons a Chairman and members for a period of three years with effect from 21 st May, 2001; 1. Justice RS. Pathak Former Chief Justice of India Chairman 2. Shri Arun P Sathe Advocate, Supreme Court Member 3. Dr. R.T. Sabapathy Mohan Professor of Chemistry Annamalai University Member 4. Shri T.S.Srinivasan Retired Chairman, CBDT Member 5. Dr. R. Masilamani Eminent Doctor, Chennai Member 6. Shri V.V.Bapat Chartered Accountant Member 7. Prof. K. Kasim Former D.1.G., Police Member 8.
