Central Government constituted the National Committee for Promotion Social and Economic Welfare - S.O. 892(E) - Income Tax

MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Revenue) NOTIFICATION No. 10476 New Delhi, the 23 rd December, 1997 S.O. 892(E) .-Whereas in exercise of the powers conferred by section 35 AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961) sad with rule 11G of the Income Tax Rules, 1962 , the Central Government constituted the National Committee for Promotion Social and Economic Welfare vide Notification No. 5(E) dated 2 nd January, 1992 as amended by S.O. 926 (E) dated 22 nd December, 1994; And whereas in the said Committee by the aforesaid notification in terms of sub-rule (1) of rule 11G , 14 members were Appointed by the Central Government as Chairman and members of the said Committee; And whereas the term of aforesaid persons is to expire on 1 st January, 1998; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 35 AC read with sub-rules (1) and (3) of rule 11G of the income Tax Rules, 1962 , the Central Government hereby appoints following persons as a Chairman and members for a period three years with effect from 2nd January, 1998:- 1. Justice R.S. Pathak Former Chief Justice of India Chairman 2. Dr. P.V. Indiresan Former Director, IIT Member 3. Dr. Indira Priyadarshini Director, Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, New Delhi Member 4. Dr. Sanjay Baru Senior Consultant, Research and Information System for Non-Aligned and other Developing countries Member 5. Prof. S.K. Sinha National Professor, Water Technology Centre, New Delhi Member 6. Dr. (Ms.) Leena Srivastava Dean (Policy Analysis ), Tata Energy Research Institute, New Delhi. Member 7. Shri P.P.
