SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE BOARD OF INDIA NOTIFICATION Mumbai, the 16 th June, 2003 S.O.696(E).-- In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992), the Board hereby makes the following regulations to amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Depositories and Participants) Regulations, 1996, namely:-- 1. (i) These regulations may be called the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Depositories and Participants) (Amendment) Regulations, 2003. (ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Depositories and Participants) Regulations, 1996, in regulation 19, in clause (a)-- (i) in sub-clause (viii), after the first proviso, the following shall be inserted, namely-- Provided further that where the stock broker has a minimum net worth of Rupees Ten Crore, the limits on the aggregate value of the portfolio of securities of the beneficial owners held in dematerialized form in a depository through him shall not be applicable. (ii) in sub-clause (x), for the figure and words Rs. 50 lakhs the words Rupees ten crores shall be substituted. [F. No. SEBI/LE/11380/2003] G. N. BAJPAI, CHAIRMAN Footnote: 1.
