Central Government de-notifies an area of 5.0609 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 2.43 hectares at Muringur and Thekkumuri Villages, Chalakudy Taluk, Koratty Panchayat, Thrissur, Kerala - S.O. 2756(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) (SEZ Section) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 15th July, 2024 S.O. 2756(E). Whereas, M/s. Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Ltd, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up an Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services Special Economic Zone at Muringur and Thekkumuri Villages, Chalakudy Taluk, Koratty Panchayat, Thrissur District, in the State of Kerala; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , had notified an area of 7.4909 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 1825(E) dated 23rd June, 2014 ; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Ltd. has now proposed for denotification of 5.0609 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Kerala has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No. ITA2/ 17/2022-ITD-Part(4) dated 9th January, 2024; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Cochin SEZ has recommended the proposal for denotification of an area of 5.0609 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 5.0609 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 2.43 hectares.
