(N.T.) Dated 27-2-1998 [Add on page 6.43 of 24th Edition of Central Excise Law Manual 1997-98] In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 2 of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), read with rule 4 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Board of Excise and Customs appoints the Commissioner of Customs, Pune as Central Excise Officer and invests the said Commissioner with all the powers of Commissioner of Central Excise, to be exercised by him throughout the territory of India, for the purpose of investigation and adjudication of cases against M/s. Zinc Smelters and Refiners (I) Pvt. Ltd., Lote Parshuram, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra.
