Waste paper for manufacture of paper paperboard, flax fibre and Nylon filament yarn - Amendment to Notification No. 12/97-Cus. Notification No. 51/98-Cus. Dated 18-7-1998 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-section (4) of section 68 of the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1996 (33 of 1996), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 12/97-Customs, the 1st March, 1997, namely :- In the said notification, in the Table, against serial No. 15, in column (2), - (i) for item (j), the following shall be substituted, namely :- "(j) All goods falling under Heading No. 51.01 of the said First Schedule;" (ii) in item (k), the word "and" occurring at the end, shall be omitted; (iii) after item (l), the following shall be added, namely : " (m) Carbon black feedstock falling under sub-heading No. 2707.99 of the said First Schedule; (n) Waste paper falling under Heading No. 47.07 of the said First Schedule and imported for the manufacture of paper (including newsprint) and paperboard by actual users, subject to the condition that the importer follows the procedure set out in the Customs (Import of Goods at Concessional Rate of Duty for Manufacture of Excisable Goods) Rules, 1996; (o) Flax fibre falling under Chapter 53 of the said First Schedule; and (p) Nylon filament yarn of more than 750 deniers falling under Chapter 54 of the said First Schedule."
