Special Customs Duty - Exemption to specified goods - Amendment to Notification No. 77/96-Cus. Notification No. 84/96-Cus. Dated 29-10-1996 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-section (4) of section 68 of the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1996 (33 of 1996), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 77/96-Customs, dated the 28th September, 1996, namely :- In the said notification, - (a) in the opening paragraph, for the letters, figures and words "S. Nos. 2 to 11 of the said Table" the letters, figures and words "S. Nos. 2 to 12 of the said Table" shall be substituted; (b) in the Table, after S. No. 11 and entries relating thereto, the following S. No. and entries shall be added namely :- (1) (2) 12. "Newsprint falling under sub-heading No. 4801.00 of the said First Schedule.".
