Rescinded vide Notification No. 21/97-Cus dated 1-3-1997 Exemption to substitute of ozone deplating substances Notification No. 4/95-Cus. Dated 6-1-1995 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts goods falling under First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), required for the substitution of ozone depleting substances, from whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the said First Schedule and from the whole of the additional duty leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Customs Tariff Act, subject to the following conditions, namely :- (i) that the project for such substitution has been approved by the steering committee set up in the Ministry of Environment and Forests for the clearance of projects; (ii) that the importer furnishes, in each case, a list of goods required for the aforesaid project duly certified by an officer not lower in rank than a deputy secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Forests to the effect that the said goods are required for the said purpose. 2. This notification shall remain in force and inclusive of 31st March, 1997.
