Amendments to 17 notifications Notification No. 129/93-Cus. Dated 11-6-1993 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. TABLE S. No Notification No. and Date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. No. 66/81-Customs, dated the 19th March, 1981. In the said notification, the words and figures "and from the whole of additional duty leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Customs Tariff Act" shall be omitted. 2. No. 224/81-Customs, dated the 1st October, 1981. In the said notification, the words and figures "and the additional duty leviable under section 3 of the second mentioned Act" shall be omitted. 3. No. 48/84-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1984. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the so much of that portion of the duty of words, brackets and letter "from - (a) customs", and ending with the words "of the second mentioned Act:", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of forty per cent ad valorem :". 4. No. 58/85-Customs, dated the 17th March, 1985. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the so much of that portion of the duty of words, brackets and letter "from - (a) customs", and ending with the words "of the second mentioned Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of twenty-five per cent ad valorem ". 5. No. 76/85-Customs, dated the 17th March, 1985. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the so much of the duty of customs", and words, brackets and figure "from - (i) ending with the words "of the Customs Tariff Act,", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of the duty of customs which is leviable thereon under the said First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of fifteen per cent ad valorem ,". 6. No. 77/85-Customs, dated the 17th March, 1985. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the so much of the duty of customs", and words, brackets and letter "from - (a) ending with the words "of the Customs Tariff Act,", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of the duty of customs which is leviable thereon under the said First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of fifteen per cent ad valorem ". 7. No. 78/85-Customs, dated the 17th March, 1985. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the so much of the duty of customs", and words, brackets and figure "from - (i) ending with the words "of the Customs Tariff Act,", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of the duty of customs which is leviable thereon under the said First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of fifteen per cent ad valorem ". 8. No. 181/86-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1986. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the so much of that portion of the duty of words, brackets and letter "from - (a) customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act:", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of fifty-five per cent ad valorem :". 9. No. 386/86-Customs, dated the 29th July, 1986. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the so much of that portion of the duty of words, brackets and letter "from - (a) customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act,", the following shall be substituted, namely:- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of fifty per cent ad valorem ". 10. No. 397/86-Customs, dated the 29th July, 1986. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the so much of that portion of the duty of words, brackets and letter "from - (a) customs", and ending with the words "of the second-men tioned Act:", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of forty per cent ad valorem :". 11. No. 60/88-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1988. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the so much of that portion of the duty of words, brackets and letter "from - (a) customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act,", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of fifty per cent ad valorem :". 12. No. 194/88-Customs, dated the 2nd June, 1988. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the the whole of the duty of customs", and words, brackets and figure "from - (i) ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act,", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975).". 13. No. 5/89-Customs, dated the 12th January, 1989. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the so much of the duty of customs", and words, brackets and letter "from - (a) ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act,", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of sixty-five per cent ad valorem ". 14. No. 97/90-Customs, dated the 20th March, 1990. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the so much of the duty of customs", and words, brackets and letter "from - (a) ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of twenty-five per cent ad valorem ". 15. No. 87/91-Customs, dated the 25th July, 1991. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the so much of that portion of the duty of words, brackets and letter "from - (a) customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act,", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of sixty per cent ad valorem ,". 16. No. 19/93-Customs, dated the 28th February, 1993. In the Table annexed to the said notification, after S. No. 26 and the entries relating thereto, the following S. No. and entries shall be added, namely :- (1) (2) (3) (4) "27. 2903.15 Ethylene dichloride 15% ad valorem.". 17. No. 72/93-Customs, dated the 28th February, 1993. In the said notification, for the portion beginning toms, so much of the duty of dated the with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act,", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of the duty of customs which is leviable thereon under the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of fifty per cent ad valorem ,".
