Goods Imported Against Advance Licences - Amendment to Notification No. 159/90-Cus. [G.E. No. 147] Notification No. 8/92-Cus. Dated 3-1-1992 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 159/90-Customs [G.S.R. 422(E)) dated the 30th March, 1990, namely :- In the said notification, for the existing proviso to condition (a) the following proviso shall be substituted; namely :- "Provided that where quantity allowed for a particular description of material cannot be imported within the specified CIF value under the said Certificate on a ground such as exchange rate fluctuation or the escalation in prices, the Collector of Customs may allow adjustment of individual values, but such adjustment shall be within the total value specified in the said Certificate".
