Effective Rate of Basic Customs Duty on Electroplating Grade Copper Sheets Falling Under Heading No. 74.09 Imported for Manufacture of Black Continuously Selective Coatings - 082/91 - Customs -TariffExtract Effective Rate of Basic Customs Duty on Electroplating Grade Copper Sheets Falling Under Heading No. 74.09 Imported for Manufacture of Black Continuously Selective Coatings Notification No. 82/91-Cus. Dated 25-7-1991 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts electroplating grade copper sheets of not less than 99.9% purity in continuous coils, falling under heading No 74.09 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) for the manufacture of black continuously selective coatings, when imported into India, from so much of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 10 per cent ad valorem. Provided that the importer produces a certificate issued by an officer not below the rank of a Deputy Secretary to the Government of India in the Department of Non-Conventional Energy Sources or the Principal Scientific Officer in that Department that such copper sheets are required for the manufacture of black continuously selective coatings which are used in solar thermal energy systems and devices.
