Amendment to Notification No. 162/90-Cus. - G.E. No. 140B Notification No. 288/90-Cus. Dated 17-12-1990 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 162/90-Customs, dated the 30th March, 1990, namely :- In the said notification, (i) in the opening portion of paragraph 1 after the words and bracket "(hereinafter called the final product)," the words "or replenishment of materials having identical specifications and technical characteristics as those actually used in the manufacture of the final product, or both, as the case may be," shall be inserted; (ii) after paragraph 1 and before the Explanations, the following paragraph shall be inserted, namely :- "1A. Notwithstanding anything contained in conditions (1) to (4) of paragraph 1, in a case where the final products in respect of which the said raw materials and components have been imported are already supplied as required under this notification, the importers may use such raw materials or components for the manufacture of the final products to be supplied to a hundred percent export-oriented undertaking or a unit within free trade zone."
