Amendment to 10 Notifications Notification No. 174/89-Cus. Dated 29-5-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) specified in column (2) of the table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. No. 127, for the entry under column 3, the entry "85.29" shall be substituted. 3. 342/76-Customs, dated the 2nd August, 1976. In the Table annexed to the said notification against Sl. No. 24, for the entry under column 3, the entry "84.73" shall be substituted. 4. 156/86-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1986. In the Table annexed to the said notification, against Sl. Nos. 3, 4 and 5, in column (2) the word and figures "or 98.06", wherever they occur, shall be omitted. 5. 345/86-Customs, dated the 16th June, 1986. In the Table annexed to the said notification,- (1) against Sl. No. 6, for the entry under column (2), the entry "70 or 85" shall be substituted; (2) against Sl. No. 11, for the entry under column (2), the entry "32, 70 or 85" shall be substituted. (3) against Sl. No. 12, for the entry under column (2), the entry "39 or 85", shall be substituted. (4) against Sl. No. 24, for the entry under column (2), the entry "75, 85 or 90" shall be substituted. (5) against each of the Sl. Nos. 2, 4 and 5, in column 2, the word and figures "or 98", wherever they occur, shall be omitted; (3) against Sl. No. 1, in column 2, the word and figures "or 98" shall be omitted; (2) against Sl. No. 3, for the entry under column 2, the entry "38 or 85" shall be substituted; (3) against Sl. No. 4, for the entry under column 2, the entry "40 or 59" shall be substituted; (4) against Sl. No. 5, in column 2, the word and figures "or 98" shall be omitted; (5) against Sl. No. 6, for the entry under column 2, the entry "38, 68 or 85" shall be substituted; (6) against Sl. Nos. 7 and 8, for the entry under column 2, the entry "69 or 85" shall be substituted; (7) against Sl. No. 16, for the entry under column 2, the entry "71 or 85" shall be substituted; (8) against Sl. No. 19, for the entry under column 2, the entry "83 or 85" shall be substituted; (9) against Sl. No. 32, in column 2, for the figures and word "84, 85 or 98", the figures and word "84 or 85" shall be substituted; (10) against Sl. No. 42, in column 2, the word and figures "or 98" shall be omitted. 8. 60/87-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1987. In the Table annexed to the said notification,- (i) against Sl. No. 4, in column (2), the figures "98.06" shall be omitted; (ii) against Sl. No. 6, in column (2), for the figures "98.06", the figures "8431.20" shall be substituted; (iii) against Sl. No. 13, in column (2), the figures "98.06" shall be omitted. 9. 181/87-Customs, dated the 29th April, 1989. In the said notification, for the Table, the following Table shall be substituted, namely :- "TABLE Articles falling under the following heading or sub-heading Nos. of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), namely :- 1. 84.44 to 84.47 (excluding domestic knitting machines). 2. 8448.11 and 8448.19 (excluding auxiliary machinery for use in domestic knitting machines). 3. 84.51 (excluding dry-cleaning machines). 4. 84.56 to 84.65." 10. 91/89-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1989. In the said notification, in the opening paragraph, for the words and figures "Chapter 84, 85, 90 or 98", the words and figures "Chapter 84, 85 or 90" shall be substituted. 2. This notification shall come into force on the 1st day of June, 1989.
