Dated 13-4-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 10/65-Customs, dated the 16th January, 1965, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the goods specified in paragraph 2, when imported into India for the purpose of search, rescue, investigation, repairs or salvage of a damaged aircraft, from the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) and the whole of the additional duty leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Customs Tariff Act, subject to the condition that such goods are exported not later than a period of three months from the date of importation thereof or such extended period as the Collector of Customs may allow. 2. The goods referred to in paragraph 1 are : - (i) Aircrafts; (ii) Tools; (iii) Spare parts; (iv) Any other equipment necessary for the aforesaid purpose.
