Amends five notifications relating to medical equipments and certain other equipments Notification No. 96/89-Cus. Dated 1-3-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. In the Table annexed to the said notification, in column (4), in the heading the words "to which statutory rates of duty shall apply", shall omitted; 2. 92/86-Customs, dated the 17th February, 1986 In the said notification, in the Table, Sl. No. 9 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted. 3. 165/86-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1986. In the Table annexed to the said notification, (i) in Sl. No. 3, item (c) shall be omitted; (ii) in Sl. No. 8, items (a) and (r) shall be omitted; 4. 65/88-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1988. "(C) In the Table annexed to the said notification, under heading OTHER MEDICAL EQUIPMENTS", - (a) for item 56, the following item shall be substituted, namely :- "56. Ultra Sound Scanner."; (b) after item 148, the following item shall be inserted, namely :- "149. Infusion sets.". 5. 265/88-Customs, dated the 28th September, 1988. In the said notification, the second proviso shall be omitted.
